"Rachel Carson's Silent Spring"
This film depicts the controversy surrounding
the publication of Rachel Carson's book on the results of the use and over-use
of pesticides afer WWII. Your assignment is to view the film and
to write an essay discussing the topics covered by her book and the film,
and how we view this topic today. In particular, discuss it in light
of the events regarding mosquitos and West Nile Virus in
New York and New Jersey these past two summers.
