1.   REPORT OVERVIEW

THE PROJECT
A myriad of opportunties for abnormal function always follows the evolution of complex systems.  As you have just experienced, there are many processes involved in the decision to move a muscle and of course the accomplisment of that goal. In this investigation you will consider those steps and then pick a type of disorder that may be a consequence of genetic mutation, environmental poison or pathogen invasion.

(*) FOR ALL PAPERS, make sure you divide the paper into these sections including subsections (15% penalty if you do not!) Multiple examples are expected.  You may add more subsections if you feel the need.

GRAPHICS

Graphics must be supplied that support all aspects of this paper (i.e., in every section/subsection listed above).  20% of the assessment grade will depend on your graphics.

Photographs, complex drawings or maps may be scanned or obtained from the internet.  If you are scanning images, make sure that you realize that 300 dpi images may be pretty, but they will take enormous resources for storage and time to print. DO NOT SCAN images in color unless you plan to print them in color.  Do not create graphics that contain extensive text using a paint program because the text will print fuzzy.  If you use graphics from the internet, please try to sort by size in Google, etc and pick the largest images, because they will print sharper.  You should really try to create your own images as much as possible.

RESOURCES

Multiple RESOURCES must be used. The use of one comprehensive review article is not acceptable.  The use of the internet is assumed. To start your research, try Google or Wikipedia as a starting place. Make sure to record your references, include URLs.  (See referencing instructions below.)

SIZE

This paper should be no larger that SEVEN pages using A&P formatting rules. References should be on a separate sheet. No other material may be included on the reference page. Graphics may be placed on one additional, separate sheet.  No text may be placed on this page other than Figure legends. Any greater need for graphics must consume part of the original seven page maximum for text.

WARNING: Any paper submitted with a total of more than NINE pages including graphics and references, will be penalized 10% PER PAGE.  This is known as the Heather Rule.

REFERENCES
Please include all references on a separate sheet of paper.  References should be written in the styles you have been taught in your humanities courses or APA style.

When referencing an internet site, make sure that you obtain the correct URL.  Check it in another window to make sure you can get back to the site. Do not simply list the URL. Preceed the URL with a one sentence descrpition of the resource.

DUE DATE
The PAPER (20%) is due by the date listed in the Due Dates website accessible through Due Dates.

All late papers will be penalized 5% per day.
