Warning:
Failure to submit a paper at
the end
of the class on the day it is due or at the announced time on a day in
which you do not have a class, (for example, Thursday by 12:30 pm on a
half day) results in an immediate penalty of 5%. Another 5% is removed
from your grade every day thereafter until the score drops to 70.
(However,
if the due date is Friday, and you turn the paper in on Monday, you
will
loose only 10 points!) If the assignment is never turned in by the
final
drop dead due date at the end of the trimester, the score converts to
0.
If the assignment is turned after the score has dropped to 70, it is
evaluated
as usual, beginning with 70 instead of 100...... unless.....
If
I return the assignment and you
have not submitted
the asssignment, then there is another 20% penalty so the best grade
you
can receive is a 50%. ... So... if you skip assignment 1 and then turn
it in on the last day to gain a few points.... the best you can get is
a 50 and that is assuming you do a perfect job! One student turned in a
paper in another course of mine on the last day and submitted only 51
pts
worth of material. Well... since I had already turned back the
assignment
to the rest of the class....with the 50 pt late penalty, he received a
score of 1.
Final
grades are determined as listed below. I DO NOT ROUND UP.
