Other Info: Richard served as constable in Aston, PA in 1688. Later he served as constable of Westtown 1700-1702. Richard was Baptist in religion. In 1715, he was among congregation that reformed to eventually became Brandywine Baptist Church, oldest of that denomination in area. Congregation had previously existed from 1692 to 1701, when it disbanded, and Richard was baptised 26 Aug. 1699 in Crum Creek

		*   His grave stone was moved to Iowa in 1966 by Ferne Widows    after destruction of Buffington Cemetery in Meigs Co, Ohio.     The stone was placed near the gravesite of Francis Marion Buffington and his wife.          Francis was the son of Hezekiah Buffington (1805-1865) who was the son of         Jacob Buffington (1785-1880) who was Joel Buffington's 5th child (see below.)    The memorial is located in the West Liberty Cemetery, Glenwood, Mills Co, Iowa (ref)     Gravestone states he was 77 at death, so his birthdate would be 1744. Others (ref) claim a death date of 1834 making his birth in 1752.
