Did you know  ... that Camp is the  1,067th most popular last name (surname).

INTRODUCTION

The Camp family connects to the DeWitt family via my great grandmother, Sarah Ann Camp who married Jefferson Swanger. The middle names of my father and grandfather is Swanger. The purpose of this document is to trace back Sarah's family as far as is possible, because we share their genes as well as DeWitt genes.

I offer two methods to view the Camp information.
  1. If you just want to follow the direct line John Camp to Joel Swanger DeWitt in Missouri, then the Family Line section is just for you.
  2. Each family often has many children and sometimes even multiple spouses.  This is all very interesting and those details are offered in the Individual Family Histories section.

Note: Campe family history from Kathy Weir: (Mlwc104 @ aol.com)
My gg-grandmother was Frances Camp of Milroy, Pa. She was born in 1828. I don't know her place of birth.
Her parents were
called "Camp," but their real name was "deKemp"  Sara Rosanna and husband Jean deKemp
were born in France. (Once here, he
used the name, "John Camp.") He was born in 1801; she in 1802.  They
married in France in 1825.  My ggg-gm, Frances, died in
Milroy in 1880.  Many of John and Rosanna's descendants
still live there.
