There seems to be confusion about who is the mother of Basil's
children. The Basil Harvey genealogy lists Rebecca Harbert as dying in
1822, but her children? Mary thru William were all born after 1830 (see
below) and of course, she was married in 1823. HOWEVER,
in 2006, I found Rebecca's tombstone inscription as dying
on 18 Sep 1872 and listed as the wife of Basil. (FindAGrave) Patsey Stout is listed below as a second wife. ** Originally I found their marriage date of November 7th, but a family bible found by Kelly Claycomb in Missouri, in 2007 lists Basil and Rebecca's marriage date as November 9th. He served in the Civil War between 1862 &1865 from the 1890 census. He was a prisoner at the famous Andersonville, POW camp. (See below) This is such an unusual name, that I assume that John Washington Harvey named a son after him. also...
